Main Conference Day 1

2:50 PM Floating Solutions in the Green Energy Transition: Opportunities and Challenges in Singapore’s and the Surrounding Waters

Southeast Asian waters near the equator have huge potential for floating solar energy and floating nuclear energy generation, offering opportunities and socio-political challenges for creating new industrial synergies/clusters and reliable energy networks connecting Singapore and nearby countries.

  • Explores opportunities for green energy transitions and energy imports/exports in Singaporean, Indonesian, and Bruneian waters
  • Analyses political and social acceptance issues influencing the use of floating structures (e.g. floating solar, nuclear, etc.)
  • Discusses synergies emerging from combining floating solar PV systems with other technologies to establish industrial clusters
