Shunta (Sam) Kijima has decades of senior commercial experience with sales and marketing as well as procurement role for one of the world’s largest mining companies. After joining JERA Co. Inc in 2021 he played a vital role in an international tender of clean fuel ammonia in 2022 for commercial operation of 20% fuel switch from coal at JERA’s Hekinan Thermal Power Plant. He had also been involved in partnering with other industry players towards introduction of fuel ammonia. Having taken up the current role of Senior General Manager, Strategy (Decarbonisation) in September 2024, he explores collaboration opportunities with players in power generation and other hard-to-abate industries in South East Asia.
