Greeting Maritime community and welcome to this new edition of the LNG Bunkering & Future Fuels Summit blog!

We are pleased to introduce our first featured speakers: Tom Strang, Senior Vice President of Maritime Affairs at Carnival Corporation, and Ilyas Muhammad, Head of Green Fuels at Hapag-Lloyd. Tom and Ilyas will be spearheading the panel discussion: "MAKING THE MOVE NOW? KEY INFLUENCES IN OUR DECISION MAKING FOR THE TRANSITION TO ALTERNATIVE FUELS." This session explores the urgent need for maritime organizations to make decisions on emissions reduction. Tom and Ilyas will discuss their strategies and insights into transitioning to alternative fuels like Methanol, Ammonia, Hydrogen, and Bio-fuels. Who will be partaking in the 'LOOKING ACROSS THE VALUE CHAIN – HOW CAN WE CONTINUE TO APPLY OUR LEARNINGS FROM LNG FOR THE FUTURE?' panel discussion. This panel assembles the diverse players crucial to the maritime value chain, from fuel producers to ship propulsion experts. Together, they'll share insights gleaned from their LNG journey and explore how these experiences shape future strategies. Delving into the nitty-gritty of setbacks and unforeseen hurdles, the session sparks dialogue on how to navigate challenges for a more prosperous industry landscape ahead.
