Site tours have become a mainstay of the LNG Bunkering North America Summit – and 2024 is no exception. Open only to a select group of 50 attendees, this year’s conference kicks off with an exclusive tour of the nearby Port Everglades.
A rare opportunity to bring the conference discussions to life, this 3-hour tour will take in Everglades’ cargo, cruise and energy operations. On the tour, attendees will experience the enormity of the Super Post-Panamax gantry cranes while observing cargo operations, tour one of the port’s beautiful cruise terminals, see the port’s environmental and public art efforts, and tour petroleum terminals to observe the offloading system.

Collectively as an industry, we are seeking new and innovative ways to reduce emissions and set a pathway for reaching emission reduction targets set by IMO. Deciding to invest into new fuels brings investment into new infrastructure, engines, bunkering facilities etc, whether the fuel of choice is LNG, Bio Fuels, Methanol, Biodiesel, Ammonia, Hydrogen or other clean burning fuels. This workshop aims to review the frameworks in place to ensure the safe transition to these alternative fuel, and help attendees to think about improvements, and collaboration to improve the safety and training that surrounds the bunkering and burning of these fuels in our ships.
With the growing uptake of alternative fuels within the maritime industry, stakeholders have to be able to make the right choice of fuel for their respective situation. Whilst in North America, LNG is the most viable option for many, considering how other fuels might become part of the mix is increasingly important and useful for ship operators to make informed decisions on the long-term solutions. Join this workshop to discover how a Life Cycle Analysis can support in the decision making process when comparing fuels, with respect to GHG emissions.
