Training F: Optimising Production Lifespan & Maintaining Aging Assets
1:20 pm - 4:20 pm Best Practices for Optimising Production Lifespan and Managing the Maintenance of Aging Assets
With volatile oil prices and the ageing profile of existing offshore platforms, oil and gas operators are being driven to operate assets and facilities beyond their originally conceived design or field life in order to maximise recoverable and profitable production. On top of that, they now face increasing challenges in maintaining equipment reliability as well as operational safety.
This in-depth workshop will detail a structured and holistic methodology to support the extension of the life of offshore platforms, where assets can continue to operate safely and production can be adequately managed.
· Addressing the risks and operational challenges of extending asset life
· Understanding the model for asset healthcare and identifying what is needed to maintain asset integrity to the end of field date
· Reviewing the integrity management systems and the manpower required to manage an ageing asset or facility
· Applying proactive policies to reduce future maintenance costs
· Identifying key strategies in managing ageing facilities and implementing these strategies to mitigate and control degradation of the facilities
