WEBINAR: Advancing energy integration
Explore upstream opportunities as oil and gas companies look to cut greenhouse gas emissions and help the UK move toward generating net zero energy by 2050
Join Lloyd’s Register to find out how the oil and gas industry should adapt to a changing political and social landscape, and discover how the UK offshore energy sector can leverage existing infrastructure and capabilities to reduce carbon emissions from oil and gas production
Global energy demand is estimated to increase by 50 per cent by 2050, and how we generate and use energy is increasingly driving the political and social agenda. The challenge facing the oil and gas industry is how it adapts to this changing landscape.
During this Lloyd’s Register webinar, our presenter will look at how the industry can strike a balance between oil and gas exploration, production, decarbonization and renewable energy sources, and explore the role that the oil and gas industry can play in contributing to decarbonization of the energy system.
This webinar will explore upstream opportunities in UK waters for cutting greenhouse gas emissions and how the industry can be part of the country’s move toward generating ‘net zero’ energy by 2050.
Discussions during the session will focus on key decarbonization technologies, as well as how integrating the UK offshore energy sector and leveraging existing infrastructure and capabilities can help to reduce carbon emissions from oil and gas production and, in the longer term, actively support the delivery of the UK’s net zero target.
Lloyd’s Register will look also share insight on a study commissioned by the Oil and Gas Authority which explored if upstream infrastructure across the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) can support the country’s energy transition from a high- to low-carbon economy, while also transforming and benefitting the sector.
Join this webinar to learn more about:
- Cutting CO2 emissions of oil and gas operations with platform electrification.
- Reducing the environmental impact of the wider energy industry by using oil and gas infrastructure with carbon capture and storage technology.
- How the oil and gas sector could be part of the move to renewable energy by introducing hydrogen production facilities and North Sea power hubs.
